"waow, didnt know the stats were so bad. I guess 5 dollars is still a lot for these people. Is it donated by charitable organisations?"

"One of the many beauties of its design is that it can be flatpacked and distributed by lorry in its thousands. Most are distributed through charitable organisations and mainly in rural Africa but I have also read about projects in Boliver."

"I think this is a wonderful invention and hope it can help even more people in remote areas. I am curious as to how well it works when there is an overcast sky with not much direct sunlight?

Kudos to the Kyoto.com."

"Absolutely brilliant little tool that can do wonders for those people, and the environment. It's the perfect example of how a very simple idea can make a massive change on both a personal level, and a global level. Think about how many millions of people who live in rural poverty that could benefit from the Kyoto box. ALSO, think about the wondrous uses in developed countries. It frustrates me that people will spend $35,000 on a flash car, but won't spend a dime on solar panels for their home. America, China, Russia, France, England, Canada, Australia, and all other western, developed countries should be embarrassed by their lack of innovation. Governments should be promoting the use of natural energies, and yet they still bow to the oil companies. When will someone grow a pair?"

"Well said James. This is an amazing bit of kit and you are right that most people have got their priorities wrong in terms of flashy cars over more environmentally sustainable energy solutions. Increasingly however, the the major energy providers are cleaning up thir acts and are investing in sustainable initatives to meet our rich energy consuming lifestyles. They are not there yet, but they are working on it as they need to for their very survival. There are even one or two "green energy" providers out there already who claim to be completely green / carbon neutral.

Yes they wil continue to bow to te oil giants (how much does the treasury raise by tax on petrol?). As for growing a pair, that is of course a totally differnt discussion!!"

"They have several innovative products including a smokeless biomass cooker, a water bag that can be used for storage or for heating water to shower, a solar powered flashlight and other solar applications. (http://www.kyoto-energy.com/products.html) I've always wanted to try a solar cooker even though I have a stove and a nice house to put it in. What a boon these devices would be in poor areas of the world! Hope some NGO's are purchasing these for distribution."
