Discussion: MELTING GLACIERS AND THE RAINFORESTS
"Can anyone help me with the facts behind this? I read an article in the paper recently that said many glaciers around the world are melting at alarming rates. It mentioned a particular one in South America that has already melted and then predicted that the melting of glaciers there would ultimately lead to deforestation of the Amazon due to a lack of fresh water coming down from the mountains (the Andes, I suppose). The problem is, I cut out the article and now I can't find it. So, that's what I remember but have no sources or facts to back it up. Does anyone know more about this? Thanks!"
