Green Idea:

The Ewaste Foundation is the first and only organization issuing Ewaste Certificates worldwide through which ones African e-waste footprint can be offset. Fast and simple From now on, with just a few mouse clicks, and only a few Euros per device, one can offset the e-waste footprint of obsolete electronic equipment -- instantly, and simply by inputting the individual serial numbers for this equipment. For each certificate sold, the Ewaste Foundation takes the corresponding amount of hazardous leftover materials out of Africa to process these in the most environmentally sound and quality manner possible. "For companies and institutions, our system offers a simple solution to outsource the practical work involved in taking one's responsibility towards African e-waste," says Ewaste Foundation founder Paul de Jong. Giving practical assistance "To address the e-waste problem in developing countries in a structural way, more is needed than just bringing back the hazardous leftovers," says De Jong. Therefore, Ewaste Foundation also supports the establishment of new sustainable e-waste disassembly projects. "We bring together practical knowledge and capabilities through our broad network. Also, we personally give local initiatives practical assistance for them to become successful," says De Jong. Ewaste Foundation: The Ewaste Foundation is a recently established Dutch based non-profit organization. It issues Ewaste Certificates internationally. At their site, www.ewastefoundation.org serial numbers for outmoded electronics can be entered to ascertain whether a device has already been offset.
