About Me:
Dan Weisenbach, President of Weisenbach Recycled Products, a Columbus company that manufactures and distributes products made from recycled materials. As Green goes mainstream, authenticity is critical. Dan has been the Real Deal in sustainability for 30 years. Dan pioneered the concept of WARM, Manufacturing (Waste As Raw Material). He continues to expand his products and develop new techniques to make it viable. Dan was honored with the 2010 SWACO Emerald Award in the Entrepreneurship Category in recognition of his innovative program that collects and recycles over 1 ton of waste glass each month. Dan developed a market for awards and sculptures made from the glass. New in 2010 is Weisenbach’s CapsCanDo Project. Partnering with the Columbus Zoo and others across the country, the project will collect plastic bottle caps and use them as raw material for an expanded line of pollution prevention items and consumer goods. Weisenbach holds more than 2 dozen trademarks and patents. Dan serves on the Advisory Council to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources—Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Keep Ohio Beautiful and Green Columbus.
Green Idea:
Our latest project, Caps Can Do, encourages people to recycle their plastic caps instead of throwing them in the trash. We take these caps, shred them, melt them down and use them to manufacture useful products. Visit CapsCanDo.org to learn more!
