Personal Details

About Me:

Hi, My name is Pete and I live on a mountain in the South of France. I do all sorts of things to make a living, I'm editor of www.naturalchoices.co.uk, at the moment I am clearing land and building greenhouses to grow organic green herbs for sale, and planting aromatic herbs for making into essential oils. We live on solar energy from our own solar panels, use our own forest management wood, grow lots of veggies, and when we have to buy Fairtrade and Organic produce where possible, and within budget. On a big bad point I do drive a Long Wheel based Landrover, but I live 2 miles off road, and when I do get to the tarmaced road we jump in our little Renault to zoom off.

Green Idea:

We have a watering can by the kitchen sink, all old washing up water goes on the garden, we also have a big plastic bin by the washing machine and all the dirty clothes washing water is captured in there and applied to the garden- so naturally we use organic soaps. This year we are hoping to install a reed bed filering system for all our grey water which will irrigate the veggies, and a dry loo to compost our pooh.

Interests:

organic gardening, surprise surprise, all things green and eco, left wing politics, history- european and african, bits of sci fi, walking, world cinema, photography, dry stone walling, friends, intentioned sustainable communities

Favourite Movies:

probably good fellows, but may be lord of the rings, or may be citizen kane, or even battleship potemkin (but only if soundtrack is played live by moscow city orchestra).

Favourite Books:

5000 boosk scattered throughout the house and i love them all in one way or another, organic gardening- the no dig appraoch by charles dowding rhs guide to propergating plants dry gar

Favourite Celebrities:

pete from age of stupid. tilly swanson, alan richman, oh lots really i mean i like them when they are in a film, or playing music i love but as indivuduals who knows? maybe not all i read in hello magazine is 100%
