About Me:

I have been working in the green world for over 10 years, since before it was fashionable! I have worked at The Center for Alternative Technology in Wales, Sunseed Desert Technology in Spain, with Iskra Wind Turbines (now called Evance) and now the Nottingham Energy Partnership. I got into this field because i have been aware since I was 16-17 that at some point in my life human population would exceed the limits of environmental sustainability. Originally it was just about survival and learning all the skills to live off-grid. However as time has gone and my natural need to talk and training as a teacher i have got more and more involved in using my knowledge to help others follow the same path. Of late I have been more involved in energy strategy and policy withing local and regional government.

Green Idea:

Live lightly and be prepared to adapt fast, the world is changing, whatever we do now. 9 billion at the top of the food chain is just too many.

Interests:

generating my own renewable energy, growing my own food, preserving, drying, pickling, forage, playing saxophone, campfires, woodcraft and self reliance
