Personal Details

About Me:

Ultra-Green Home and Building Designer. President of Green Tek Haus. Entrepreneur. Bootstrapped 3 different companies to profitability. Speaks fluent Japanese, some German. Married, two grown daughters, and three sons: 8, 5 and 2-and-a-half.

Green Idea:

Create new construction homes that are 80-90% more energy efficient with better indoor air-quality, so that you could then put solar PVs on the roof and MAKE money from the electricity you sell back to the grid. (Yes, we need a Feed-In-Tariff or FIT everywhere!) Or we can retrofit/remodel existing buildings to bring them up to this standard. This is a certified standard, guaranteeing these results. Many buildings in Europe already have this certification. With my firm, Green Tek Haus, a Design/Materials/Build firm based in San Francisco we can create such custom homes (or other buildings) that use 80-90% less energy than conventional similar buildings, all for under $200/square foot for the whole process! We provide this as a "one-stop-shop" or "ala-carte" service.

Interests:

and are now going about capturing market share! other interests: architecture, ultra-green materials, new construction methods, low-materials-usage and space-efficient design, photography, soccer, skiing, fly-fishing, driving, travel, music, languages & cultures, art., seeing my green ideas for buildings come to fruition through our services. we have put all of the p

Favourite Movies:

my #1 very favorite: cecil b.demille's "the ten commandments" - it has everything: spiritual, action, adventure, romance, comedy, chase scenes, vfx, great acting and directing, though! the worst car chase scene of the bunch: casino royale (new one). what, 2 seconds into the car, he's out of town already and then crashes within another 5 seconds? not a good car chase sequence, and not good story-telling. #5: "a river runs through it". if you're a fly-fisher, you gotta love this movie! the book was just as good, among other things. biggest reason: true story. #2: "tucker - the man and his car" - f.f. copola's, watch this movie for inspiration! same here: true story! #3: "babe". the presentation of this mov, too! #6: "lemans" with steve mcqueen. classic that no one can touch. porsche vs. ferrari rivalry

Favourite Books:

#1: the scriptures. still relevant today, and everyday of my life. for others, please see my linkedin profile for a list.

Favourite Celebrities:

cary grant. he's got class, cool, calm, collected, so sean connery was tapped for it. good choice there, too. i probably should have some "green celeb" on my list, so both are favs for it!, no matter what! little known fact: he was who ian flemming had wanted to play the original james bo, but i don't because i'm too afraid that most of them really don't care. robert redford might be leg, though. although i don't agree with all of his opinions. paul newman and steve mcqueen come to m
