"This time, I´m trying not to be so heavy and I am opening my discussion to all religions so please do not hesitate to let me know what you think."

"I like your subjects greenvoice, theyre good. This one is difficult as I dont think I know enough about all religions to tell you which one is the greenest. I think at core, all religions preach the same values, which have very low impacts on the environment. Greed is evil and greed leads people to want more, more and never have enough. I think in all religions greed is bad. I am muslim and as you might know in Islam, we fast one month a year to feel compassionate for poor people and to cleanse our bodies. I think that´s a bit green in a way."

"Guys thanks for your comments. it looks like the religious green tribe is not doing as well as the home tribe or the finance tribe. Is religion a scary subject for people these days? What are people afraid of? Even Al Gore today admitted that the fight against climate change was a fight for spirituality...am not alone. Would love to hear more views."

"I am fairly intrigued as to how religion deals with potential for human extinction. How does reincarnation work for example if we leave the earth devoid of all life Cf Venus? It seems to me that all religions have something to say about our individual death. This is clearly the way to connect with the largest number of individuals, we are all concerned about our own or our loved ones mortality. The potential death of our species however is utterly inadequately dealt with in any religion as far as i am aware?

If there is noone left to hum his tunes, did Beethoven ever exist?"

"hummm yes everyone is concerned about their loved ones mortality so if i understand you well Jerome, you are saying why arent they concerned about the earth mortality? I dont think people understand the problem enough. if insects or other specys die, it´s distant for humans, it´s not like a loved one. In Islam, there is a verse saying "when the dooms comes, a man will have a palm shoot in his hand, you should plant it": I think it means that even in the face of disaster, there is hope. There is a lot of responsiblity placed on mankind to balance the earth. What is it like in Christianity?"

"After all, there is interest in my religion tribe...Yes Christinaity recognises the issue of climate change but instead of climate change being the main issue, it recognises climate change as a consequence of the way we lead our lives. A typical example of that will be Operation Noah. Operation Noah exists because God's creation faces the most urgent peril, which, to be averted, requires a rapid and radical transformation of our economy and culture - towards liveable, supportable lifestyles. the key word in the previous sentence is transformation. For those of you who are not familiar with Operation Noah, please visit the website and maybe donate as well www.operationnoah.org
Karim, I like what you write about Islam and I agree with you that as more and more disasters from Climate Change occur, the closer humanity will get to each other."

"Maybe it is time to rethink the whole 'go forth and multiply' thing? After all population growth and excessive consumption are the route of this issue. Until we can halt population and economic growth we will be fighting fires."

"It is not the religion in itself that´s GREEN, it´s the people. I say we need to focus on the real issues, not get distracted by which religion is the greenest. sorry Greenvoice!"

"Dont apologise Mark, my point is not to unveil a specific unique religion but is more to start debate. You might be an atheist but as I am sure you know, some people lead their lives as per the principles in their religion. If the environmental views of religions were known by their followers, it would be more likely that they would lead green lives. does this make sense? Also it would be possible for the church for example to attract more people to its doors."

"Please check my blog. I´ve just read something on Indonesia and Islam and I thought that in some ways it answers this question by greenvoice."
