"Great... i have used google as my browser starting page for 10 years now, but that is history! In comes the forestle.org!!
I find it hard to estimate how many searches I do per day, probably around 50-100. One thing is that to be used as a starting page, the site has to be lean, extremely fast loading and naturally the search functionality has to be perfect. So far www.forestle.org has delivered, but i will trial it for few days before the final decision.... Please let me know about your experiences with the other ones?"

Big difference between the two is that znout is based on the google search engine while forestle is based on yahoo's. Even though Google naturally is more widely used I personally respect yahoo's search result's as they are better quality."

"@Amy Hello Amy,the company is based in Germany.It was linked to Google for some time but Google ended the partnership ,accusing Forestle of providing users with an incentive to click ads!
The company does not actually plant trees but instead donates 90% of its profits to Nature Conservancy(http://www.nature.org/) which does the actual planting of trees.Forestle just generates the revenues through adverts on its search engines.
